I received a brand new GS70 laptop equipped with Bit-defender security, so my concern isn't hardware or virus-related. The problem began after upgrading from Windows 8 to 8.1, though I wasn’t uninstalling Startisback beforehand. Whenever I right-click in File Explorer (My Computer, USB stick, or left-click on the shortcut), it says it won’t respond and quits the whole desktop, closing all open files. This issue started after installing Startisback with Windows 8.1. I’m unsure what to do and would really appreciate any assistance.
Verify the installed software and remove unnecessary apps that came with the laptop. Disable startIsBack and back up your license key. Open the command prompt as administrator and run "sfc /scannow" to check for system issues. Consider using ccleaner to clear temporary files and registry entries. It might be a hardware problem or a driver conflict, so update all drivers to the latest Windows 8.1 version.
