Hey everyone. I recently installed a new PC with an Asus B550 Plus motherboard, Ryzen 9 processor, and a TufGaming RTX 3060 graphics card. When playing FPS games like Destiny 2 or Halo, I notice a visible distortion line that shifts up and down the screen depending on camera movement. This effect only appears during gameplay, not in other situations. I’m using a Dell U2715 monitor, but switched to a 1080p gaming monitor and the distortion still shows. When I connected my XBOX Series X to the Dell, no lines were detected. I attempted to take a screenshot, but it didn’t show up. Any suggestions on how to investigate further? All drivers seem up to date.

I experienced a similar issue recently. The fix involved turning off adaptive sync on my monitor. You might want to give that a try.

Seems similar to disabled/adaptive vsync issues. It makes sense—it doesn’t match the monitor’s refresh rate.

The examples I've observed feature a continuous line with a noticeable shift in the image. It appears as a thick, semi-transparent stroke that moves across the display. Is this still classified as tearing?

Turned VSync on but didn't see any results. Check out the video here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/iptv0jen07s4gt0/2022-05-17 19.16.05.mov?dl=0
