You recently purchased an SSD and performed a clean installation, but the system indicated you needed a product key for an upgrade. You're concerned about repeatedly installing Windows versions if this happens. Is there a solution to avoid that?

Get the 8.1 ISO file. Use a standard activation key to install, then update it afterward. Source: Dell Windows reinstallation guide
