The city can complete its task with three additional tiles. The starting point is seven tiles away, but the exact distance varies based on the location. Minimum four tiles are required depending on the situation.

I don’t usually monitor tile spacing closely; it depends on what looks good visually. (Or if I find something interesting I want to collect). In my gameplay, I prioritize certain early wonders first, mainly those that boost food and gold for my settlement. You’re really a wild Spaniard! o:

It really hinges on the situation. Your initial move should focus on acquiring something you don’t have, which can range anywhere from four to ten spaces away.

I generally prefer compact city layouts with close proximity between urban areas. Of course, when a necessary resource becomes available, I might extend my settlement farther out, but I usually try to keep that at a distance.

A three-city layout extending across culture and impact, trade permitted but borders closed—every wonder included. Ghandi dislikes it. It also pairs nicely with Rameses!

It varies, but with so many people involved, they might not stay linked once the expansion is complete.
