So at work we have a big audit coming up, they want us to go to find out what machine, floor-box port and switch port are connected to. I reckon that we could ping out from the switch to see whats attached to each port and use that to build a spreadsheet. If anyone has any ideas? please save me from this monstrous task!

Retrieve MAC addresses from your devices. Next, identify which MACs are linked to the switch and compile the spreadsheet.

Execute the Lldp table command to retrieve MAC addresses. Run the Show lldp neighbors to view connected devices. If your system supports Lldp, it may display network details. For hostname information, consider using DHCP instead.

LLDP is activated as part of standard security measures, while CDP follows similar guidelines.

I enabled the command with lldp and will turn it off once the audit is complete.
