ChromeOS Bluetooth Issues
ChromeOS Bluetooth Issues
I acquired a Lenovo IdeaPad Duet Chromebook for basic note-taking, streaming, and everyday tasks. It’s great for its affordability and the display quality exceeds expectations for such a budget device. I’m quite flexible with Bluetooth gadgets. I notice my neighbors’ Sony TVs appear but can’t connect their Sony WF-1000XM4 headphones or my Wacom stylus. (I’m not certain if the stylus is supported, but it should show up in my list.) The devices aren’t showing up in the discovery while they’re definitely present and ready to use. I’ve read about Chrome OS issues with Bluetooth data transfer—several fixes suggest turning off Bluetooth temporarily. However, even after disabling it on my older Samsung phone and my newer OnePlus Nord 2, the devices still don’t appear. I usually turn off Bluetooth on other interfering devices, but that doesn’t resolve the problem. Anyone have tips? Particularly for the headphones—it’s essential for making Teams calls on this device.
Recent note: I realized the Logitech MX Master 3 supports Bluetooth too. It appears in the discovery list, but connection attempts don’t work properly. I’m still trying to understand why.
Another update for those encountering the same issues: Lenovo has been slow to respond to my ticket, yet they did eventually do something unusual. There seems to be some background activity from Vodoo, and my Logitech is currently functioning. The Sony Buds need the Sony Headphones App, which is available in the Play Store for Chrome OS, but its interface isn’t well suited for this setup, limiting its use. I’ve contacted Sony to ask if they’d consider making changes. I’m quite satisfied with the Lenovo IdeaPad for its value—it offers great performance on the keyboard, screen, and stylus. The Bluetooth connection is a bit confusing, and I’m unsure who should be held responsible since I don’t have a comparable Chrome OS device to test it further.
