Hey everyone, I've been reflecting on my old laptop. It was a solid machine back then, but now it feels pretty basic. My mom is using it mostly for web browsing and office tasks. My question is: should we switch it to Chrome OS and use Google Docs so it becomes faster and easier, or upgrade the Windows 7 to Windows 8? I’d love to hear your thoughts and read them back if you’re interested. TY!

I spent a lot of time trying to show my mom how to use Google Drive, but she remains quite skeptical about it. She also prefers Windows XP over Windows 7 or 8, so I switched her back to that version. Her main needs are just accessing the internet and using Microsoft Office. You might want to introduce her to Microsoft Online and Chrome OS instead—Microsoft Online is similar to Office 2013, or consider the Android version of Microsoft Office for devices like Chromebooks.
