Chrome OS
Chrome OS
I’m considering a laptop and unsure whether a standard Windows model or a Chromebook suits me better. I’d like to understand which operating system supports my needs and how well it performs, especially since the device will mainly handle schoolwork and simple web tasks.
For such tasks you might find a budget laptop with Linux Mint (or another version) suitable, as it uses less memory compared to Windows 10. I'm using Mint Mate smoothly on a mobile device running a Sandy Bridge Pentium. Chrome OS seems to depend heavily on an internet connection.
I don’t feel comfortable with Linux; it seems to be quite challenging for me, and it doesn’t seem to function well for me.
Chrome OS runs on Linux but offers fewer capabilities compared to standard distributions. I don’t see any benefit in choosing it.
You're a Fedora enthusiast! What would you like to accomplish on your laptop today?
It's a homework machine and one of the rare things that brings me joy when I visit my nan's place every few months. They have the best Wi-Fi they could afford, thanks to Aunt Naima.
