Hi
Chrome frequently changes this setting to "Sites can ask to send notifications," even though I adjust it. There’s no "save" option, which feels confusing. How can I keep the setting I changed? Is there a registry file that controls this?
Thanks in advance.

There are alerts in both chrome and windows to manage notifications. Experiment with them.

You're not seeing the expected results. I'm trying to figure out why the setting in Chrome keeps changing.

You might have to completely remove Chrome, download the newest update, reinstall it, and then follow the steps below.
Consider saving all bookmarks, passwords, etc., to a file before exporting and re-importing after the installation.

As above.
Nevertheless, full transparency shows me a more skeptical perspective on the matter.
Letting users disable notifications means that end users might miss or not be informed about certain ads being shown to them.
"New Outlook" – despite my objections – was installed on my Windows 11 system. It caused problems with emails, contacts, and so on. Now I receive ad notifications, which are currently unblockable but can be easily removed.
Attempts to go back to the Classic Outlook version were unsuccessful.
Notably, Microsoft 365 recently provided a $1.99 monthly option to disable these features.
Seems like the software isn’t lucrative enough for continued support.
A closer review is needed, and details should be discussed in Opinions and Experiences.
