I've observed a significant issue in Chrome Canary Version 42.0.2277.0 (64-bit). While I can handle many tabs and various content without trouble, opening another tab for YouTube—whether playing a video or just browsing—causes my CPU usage to spike by around 30%. This increase happens regardless of whether I have two tabs or thirty, and it persists even after closing the YouTube window. Once Canary restarts, the usage remains at that elevated level until I fully close and reopen it. I've attached two screenshots: one showing Canary running with a video playing, and another taken shortly afterward to illustrate the effect. This behavior reminded me of performance drops I experienced while playing BF4, where frame rates seemed lower than usual, especially in intense moments. The issue isn't just minor; it's noticeable enough to affect my gaming experience. I'm curious if others using Windows 8.1 and Canary are encountering similar problems, particularly those who aren't deeply technical.

It seems you're curious about the recent updates to your Chrome browser. If it feels like a beta version, that might be due to ongoing improvements or new features being rolled out.

Not a beta, it's not the regular version of Chrome, it's the somewhat new, 64bit version. Here's an image from my version:: I prefer it for security and it seems to manage memory better. Although this bug is pretty annoying.

I won’t exceed my limit more than once. Please forgive me if I’m being overly polite—I’m just really interested in hearing if anyone can do this again or share an idea. Thanks.
