For Indonesians, the funds are roughly Rp. 1.500 million. There are plenty of suggestions available here. I admit I might be wasting time, but I’d like to invest in a suitable RAM package for overclocking. Although it’s not ideal for gaming performance, I’m aiming for steadier frame rates, lower latency, and a balanced speed that could benefit me long-term. My current setup is the Team T-Create Expert with a Hynix CJR chip, 8GB RAM at 3333C14. It’s decent, but after applying 1.4V, it feels subpar. I’m considering a 32GB upgrade because of this page file issue. As a heavy multitasker, I often run 30–50 tabs in Edge—sometimes with tabs open for YouTube Music, Discord, and WhatsApp—and whenever I launch games, the page file kicks in, causing noticeable lag. Even with the “Reduce Memory” tool, it only lets me open 4–6 tabs at once. That’s why I really need more RAM to avoid hitting the page file. I’m thinking of buying multiple 16GB units until I find the perfect die—Samsung B Die, Hynix DJR, or Micron E—though getting a refund in Indonesia isn’t easy. I’d prefer something sleek and modern, with RGB lighting. Based on what I’ve seen, here are my top picks in order of priority:

- KLEVV DDR4 CRAS XR RGB KD4AGU880-36A180Z & KD4AGUA80-40B190Z (Hynix, 3600C18 / 4000C19)
- Orion GAOG432GB3200C22DC (Micron)
- 5800X3D (personal goal once I land a job)
- Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK32GX4M2E3200C16W (multi-vendor)
- KLEVV Bolt X DDR4 CRAS X RGB KD4AGU880-32A160X
- ADATA DDR4 XPG SPECTRIX D45G AX4U360016G18I-DCBKD45G
- Gskill DDR4 TridentZ Neo RGB F4-3200C16D-32GTZN
- Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro SL CMH32GX4M2E3200C16
- Lexar DDR4 Hades RGB LD4BU016G-R3600GDLH

I’m also curious about your experiences and whether these models pair well with a Zen 3 CPU. Right now it’s just a basic 5500, but I hope to upgrade to something better once I get a steady job. For style, I prefer sleek, modern designs over the usual techy or tribal looks. RGB lighting is a big plus. Let me know your thoughts or any tips you have!

The ReduceMemory tool probably frees up actual memory by moving data into the pagefile, but when you need it again it must be read back and written again, causing performance drops. The budget is around $100—skip the unnecessary RAM and consider purchasing a Ryzen 5600 or 5600X from eBay. These models offer higher IPC, better memory controllers, and faster single-threaded performance, allowing you to run tighter timings without overclocking your RAM. Sell your existing 2600 after acquiring the new processor and you could recoup $40–$50 easily. A 500 GB NVMe SSD can help mitigate paging effects. You might be seeing this because your current Sandisk SSD is likely failing or slow. Modern NVMe drives include pseudo-SLC caches that can temporarily store data at speeds exceeding 1 GB/s, compared to the slower rates of your old drive. Also, your thread mentions a Gigabyte B450M S2H—expecting high overclocking expectations on such a board isn’t realistic. Instead, focus on improving cooling with a quality case fan and mesh cover to keep the RAM cool.

I didn't realize this was a different machine now. The build log will be updated soon. While it's almost brand new with a 5600 spec, I'm stuck with limited RAM and the system still struggles despite NVMe caching. I'm targeting 32GB of memory. Key parts and their costs (converted to USD): CPU Ryzen 5 5500 $111.31, Cooler Deepcool AG400 ARGB $20.48, Motherboard MSI B450-A Pro Max $80.58, RAM Team T Create Expert 2X8GB 3200MHzC16 $47.80, SSD Team MP33 Pro 1TB NVMe PCIe 3.0 $61.12, HDD Seagate Skyhawk 2TB 5400RPM $0 (from Lighthouse), GPU ASRock Radeon RX6700XT Challenger D OC $380.99, Case Fractal Design Pop Air Black Painted $91.51, PSU Deepcool PM750D 80+ Gold $73.61.

Start by turning off the page file. This will make Windows store less data locally and remove more, possibly resolving most of your problems. I use about the same setup and never faced issues with 16 GB. (The real challenge comes when running multiple games at once and compiling files.)

I really don’t want to turn it off unless there’s a real need. From what I understand, they work well as a backup for stability, but I don’t want my system to depend too heavily on them since they can cause performance issues. Limiting it to around 4GB might help balance things.

Windwos has improved its stability and will remove unused items. If it doesn’t assist you, you can purchase more RAM later.
