I'm looking at a HyperX Furt Black 2 x 8GB 3200mhz CL18. I want to upgrade to 24GB RAM, possibly 32GB, but the price here seems steep. My system runs a Ryzen 5 2600 on a ROG STRIX B350-F gaming board. Should I get another 3200mhz CL18 stick or can I opt for something with lower latency like CL16? Can I add more sticks—three total would work—and keep dual-channel performance? Also, is it fine to mix RAM from different brands?

If you get the HyperX Furt Black 2 with 8GB RAM at 3200MHz CL16, it should work fine. It makes sense to choose 2x8GB over 2x4GB since there aren’t many options available right now. The 24GB version seems a bit excessive for most users.

It needs to align with your setup, maybe you can adjust it to fit the other system, though dual channel might not function properly.

With a cl16 kit, all units should operate at cl 18 since it’s the least efficient timing setting among the two options.

You need a 2x8 package. One 8-bit version wouldn't support multiple channels. If the board allows tri-channel, that might help, but it isn't available here. Adjusting the clock settings could be an option, though it's not guaranteed.
