Choosing between two CPU+Mobo offers a tough decision.
Choosing between two CPU+Mobo offers a tough decision.
so theres a i5 6600k with a nonoverclokable mobo (ive talked about this before) and a i7 7800x with a mobo and a aio. the thing is the i7 7800x is 150 while the i5 6600k is 100, i dont really play games other than a bit of valorant and csgo so i dont want/need a gpu. but the thing is the i7 7800x doesnt have a igpu, my budget is quite bad so what yall think? edit: if i buy a discret gpu for the i7 7800x i would need at least $70 for a trash gpu that might be on par with the igpu.
If you're not aiming for top-tier gaming performance, the 6600k is a solid choice. A $70 investment won’t get you a GT 710, so consider the IHD 530 on an i5 instead. What’s your main use for this system? Do you actually need to overclock it?
I think the i7 is a solid choice for that price point. The extra cores will really help with multitasking, even if the single-thread speed isn’t much different. You’re spending about $100 more for two additional cores and future upgrades—definitely worth it. But if you're tight on funds, the i5 still works well, and the i7 is just a step ahead. (It depends on shipping costs, but both are great options.)
I thought it might be a good idea if it weren’t. Potential up to 10980XE with 18 cores.
