You might consider an i9 10900K and Z490 setup. Alternatively, a Ryzen option could work. For pure gaming, go with the 8700K and keep an eye on Ryzen 4000 and Rocket Lake releases.

Those boards are too expensive for a 9900K. A Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Elite would work well at a lower cost. Investing heavily in something that won’t work isn’t practical. Are you satisfied with your existing setup?

My current setup uses an Aorus gaming 7, but it lacks certain features I need. The front panel of my case has USB ports that aren’t connected since I only have one header on the board. The RGB fusion software is really poor and causes a lot of frustration. Additionally, I only have four pin fan headers and three pin ARGB fans—though I know that’s partly my responsibility, I still appreciate those fans.
