Recommended improvements include Intel 9400/9600K or earlier; 6 core without high-performance chips isn't sufficient for most modern games to perform optimally. It's beneficial depending on the situation. 7th generation and beyond, a full upgrade is highly recommended. Ryzen 2nd generation and earlier; potentially 3rd generation if you want maximum speed. Generally, simply replacing your graphics card with a 5600x/5800x is a straightforward choice. If you're using a 300 series board and can't upgrade to the 5000 series, Intel's 12600k/12700k options are also strong choices.

Zen 4 should bring excitement! I’d hold my breath. At best, it might reduce the price of Intel’s 12th generation chips.

It’s not about cost since a new motherboard is significantly pricier than most other consumer items right now. Are they offering DDR4 models? DDR5 is far more costly, so this requirement adds extra expense. In short, avoid the 12th generation if you aim for top performance per dollar spent.

DDR4 boards appear to be the optimal choice for Alderlake right now. They’re also more affordable. It looks like you can find a Gigabyte Z690 UD for around $200 that works well. Fast data transfer speeds in DDR4 generally outperform average DDR5 while being cheaper.

It's good to hear. I haven't looked into the Z690 components yet, as I don't think I'll encounter one in person anytime soon. Lol
