I'm not sure which option to pick. I enjoy playing games, editing, and watching performances. I used to have 7 but upgraded to 8.1 now. I might go back since I think 7 looks better and performs well, but I've been using Windows 8 for a while, and some people say it's better for gaming. What do you think?

The results are actually improved. File History performs much better than Windows Backup.

8.1 performs more efficiently than 7, particularly after adapting to the GUI changes. Using third-party tools such as start8 and ribbon removers simplifies the transition, making it much smoother to operate.

Windows 8.1 is based on the issues from Vista, making it quite large and cumbersome. The kernel here performs much better, reducing system needs by half for the x64 version.

8.1 hands down for me, I still have 7 at work and its starting to annoy me, both are decent but 8.1s better IMO.

Never would return to version 7 or 8.1 completely.

Everyone else agrees. It wasn't possible to revert to version 7. The situation at work is terrible.

I secured a win on 8.1 using a second SSD drive, and I wasn’t confident about running Win8 until then. All tests show Win8 outperforms Win10 in benchmarks, so I plan to upgrade my Win7 SSD.
