Choose Windows 7 or move to Windows 8.1.
I’m considering switching to Windows 8.1 since I can’t keep using Windows 7 anymore. Repeated reinstalls were causing problems, so I’m looking for a stable alternative. I don’t mind the appearance as long as community fixes work, especially since Microsoft hasn’t been reliable after Vista and Windows 8. I’ve managed to disable Windows authentication, which lets me connect SSDs to almost any machine and boot into Windows 7. I’m a bit worried about that step because it might conflict with the Windows agreement, though I’d prefer to stick with Windows 7 until its end-of-life. I’m aware Windows 10 is on the way, but I think it would be better to wait until at least Service Pack 1 or 2 before upgrading.
Windows 8.1 with Classic Shell offers great value. Upgrading to Windows 10 might be free.
It's similar to the Win 8 experience on Windows 8.1. I'm considering purchasing it, but price is a factor.
Windows 10 is available for free. Here’s an article you might find interesting: [link]
Hey, I spent 8.1 and don’t want to waste another $100 on this thing. I’ve got 10 as a beta version, but making it stable will cost money.
But perhaps we should consider that I could be correct, and there might be an option available. They likely viewed version 8.1 as a significant change, whereas version 8 is the core system, making version 10 another possible free release. The only solution remains patience.
