Using a regular hard drive makes 8.1 noticeably quicker overall. An SSD brings minimal change. Gaming performance is slightly better on 8.1, but a powerful GPU won’t make a big impact. Improvements on 8.1 are mainly seen in devices like tablets that struggle with slow storage access or have built-in graphics. If you don’t have an SSD, choose 8.1; otherwise, pick the model you prefer for its appearance.

Hey, please choose Windows 8.1 for a better experience with its new features. It’ll also be handy when switching to Windows 10 later. Both seem quite alike now.
