I prefer fresh installations. Every upgrade from Windows 7 to 10 turned out problematic, so I opted for clean installs. Most were successful except for one.

there would be many options available in version 11 like to test (though I'm not sure they really help, so I'll try) or using both Linux and Windows together without any bootloader stuff... but honestly, I don't think I'd ever use an OS where copying something requires scrolling or clicking extra options first.

I stayed on Windows 10 until it stopped meeting your requirements or became unsupported. Using the latest hardware or software is perfectly fine if it works for you. Upgrading my graphics card seven years ago from a 2015 model wasn’t necessary—it handled games just okayly. It was only swapped because of a mechanical issue. Personally, I prefer a fresh install when switching OSes; it feels more satisfying. That’s hard to put into words.
