You should upgrade to Windows 11. Your CPU is compatible with it, but you’ll need a full Windows installation since your current setup uses DDR4 RAM. Upgrading to Windows 11 ensures better support and features for your new CPU.

For Intel CPUs from the 12th and 13th generation featuring P and E cores, Windows 11 performs better. Most tasks show minimal variation, though certain applications benefit more from Windows 11 thanks to its Thread Director feature.

Use a USB thumb drive to transfer Windows onto an SSD. This ensures you bypass old drivers from the AMD system and get a fresh installation.

I’ll be using my old storage, so why a USB thumb drive? Can I simply reinstall Windows and retain all my files, or will I need to reinstall everything?

You can store your games on an SSD, but you may need to transfer them from the old HDD. Once you have the new SSD, it will be ready for use.

You have the option to store your games on a hard disk drive, but it will take longer to access them than an SSD.

The SSD is for Windows, but your HDD is still good for games. To keep all your games running smoothly, make sure your storage setup supports them and consider regular maintenance.
