It's weird seeing a 5700 handle a 3080 effortlessly. Only when you hit CPU limits does it start struggling, which doesn't happen in most games—except when you're chasing high FPS in esports.
I almost forgot about the X3D boat now, so I decided to get it right this time. I’m planning a solid motherboard setup—it really is the best upgrade option for me. Sometimes I struggle to reach 60 FPS in Squad at 1080p, so upgrading the CPU might make a big difference.
Huh? The game is so badly optimized that even a year after launch, the newest map remains nearly impossible to play. Performance is terrible regardless of your hardware. Players with an i7 6700k or 13900k get the same results since the game is just poorly built. The only solution to run it better is to pay the developers to fix it.
It's not just about the team. I'm sure other processors could be better if they were available. My CPU doesn't match my GPU's performance.
It's not limiting your progress. Afterburner on MSI will boost performance, and the game overlay will show the 3080 at full capacity in games that run smoothly without hitting engine or age restrictions.
That's a good observation. GPU performance does impact frame rates, but CPU speed also plays a big role in how smoothly the game runs. A stronger CPU can help maintain higher FPS even if the GPU isn't hitting its full potential.
Played another title here. GTA V with GPU around 70% usage, sometimes dropping below 60 but usually about 75-80 FPS.
Confirmed the issue was a CPU bottleneck at 1080p. After upgrading to a 7800X3D, everything runs smoothly at full resolution. It works great!
