I'm planning to assemble a new PC for the latest 30 series with AMD CPUs and want to decide on the ideal RAM. Should I go with Corsair or G Skill - G.Skill Trident Z RGB Series 16GB?

I’d choose the G skill Ripjaws V 3600 cl16. It’s in stock, performs well, doesn’t cause eye strain, and there’s no RGB option. Plus, it’s affordable.

I don’t have a direct link, but you can check their availability on Amazon by searching for the product name there.

Aim for a kit with a CAS latency under 16 ms. A 3200 CL16 model usually performs better than a 3600 CL18. This setup should be effective.

Can you adjust the timing or something in the bios? Thanks! Still getting familiar with PC.

CL value typically shown in RAM timing data, yet it's actually a hardware characteristic you can't adjust through BIOS settings. It behaves like the gray-to-gray delay on a display, meaning higher latency generally harms performance.

Got it, I'll look into the Rip Jaws kit.

Be mindful - I changed G.Skill Ripjaws V 3200 MHz CL16 RAM to 3600 MHz CL16 RAM. Verify your RAM\Motherboard pairing in the QVL to confirm compatibility. I wasn't able to. I'm using R7 3700X on a B550 Gigabyte Aorus Pro, and the 3600 MHz RAM triggers a boot loop. It didn’t happen with the 3200 MHz version. Memtest shows no problems (21 tests passed). I’m okay with letting it run overnight for 7-8 hours, but the RAM isn’t working with this setup. It’s disappointing I’ll need to return the RAM and buy it again.
