Choose the right CPU based on your GPU, then add sufficient RAM for performance.
I have a system with a GTX 1060, 6GB RAM and 8GB of memory. I’m not sure what the specs mean. I think the 4 could be a 5-core i5-4690 at 3.5GHz, not the K version. There’s a mention of an XFX XT 500W PSU and SSD, but the site says it’s fine as long as most components work. The 8GB RAM looks gray, which is confusing. I’m wondering if upgrading the RAM really matters for performance, especially since FPS isn’t the main concern. I don’t want to replace the whole motherboard or mess with the PSU wires, so I need to know if RAM upgrades are worth it. Also, I’m not counting the cost of a new GPU or high-end CPU. Is this a good decision?
Which game are you playing? Your current RAM usage is higher than expected. You mentioned having another 8GB of RAM available, which would be beneficial. It seems you're likely using two 4GB sticks.
It's actually just one stick of 8GB, included with the PC originally. I upgraded to a 1060 later.
