I have a 16GB DDR4-3200 module but often see high memory usage (90% or more). I have extra space since my board has two empty slots. I’m thinking about two options: either buy a 32GB kit (two 16GB units) at the same speed, or purchase a 2x8 16GB kit for double capacity. My current unit is a Corsair RMA replacement, but one RGB LED failed recently. It hasn’t been processed yet because I don’t want another wait of three weeks and I’m unsure if it’s still eligible. Maybe I can buy the extra 16GB kit and then return the current one, or sell it at a slight discount compared to non-RGB models on eBay. Note: I’m using a R5 3600 and plan to upgrade to a 5800X3D, so CAS latency and speed won’t be critical.
Using two RAM sticks can improve compatibility and allow faster operation while reducing pressure on the CPU's memory controller. The specific motherboard and BIOS settings might determine whether 4xRAM works well or leads to problems at higher speeds.
I don't believe 3200 will be too demanding for the Ryzen 5 3600 to manage. I also discovered a more affordable Kingston option that's 15% cheaper. Purchasing a new Corsair 16GB kit would cost about 66% less than getting a Kingston 32GB one... Since the Kingston kit might work with RUBFusion without needing ICUE, I'm considering it strongly.
With four dimmers it doesn't work properly even for a 5950X model, causing crashes or requiring a full BIOS reset. Running memory at a slower speed allows adding two more dimmers and operating at 2933.
You're experiencing issues with your 3700x model not running smoothly at 3600MHz, so you adjusted the clock speed to 3200MHz. Your 5900x works fine at 3600MHz without any problems.
