Recently bought G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 4400 (PC4 35200) Intel XMP 2.0 Desktop Memory Model F4-4400C19D-32GVK. Operating at ring 1 4000mhz. Everyone says this is what I should do. But does it actually make a difference when running at 4400mhz instead of the recommended 2.0? I don’t play much, mostly use it for research and need the quickest setup possible. Any opinions or feedback? Thanks.
Intel's optimal setting is Gear 1:1 at 4000mhz, offering the best timing precision. Gear 2 boosts memory frequency but reduces performance since the memory controller operates at half speed. Stick with Gear 1 at 4000mhz unless you can push higher via BCLK, in which case minor adjustments may help maintain stability.
