Check the settings to see how each mode affects performance. Fullscreen may use more system resources, while window borderless often runs smoother. You might notice slight changes in frame rate or temperature depending on your hardware and settings.

Fullscreen offers extra options such as brightness control, while windowed borderless allows you to switch tabs without the annoying black flicker. You also have the ability to place windows on top of windowed borderless, unlike in fullscreen where the game disappears when you close a tab.

Frame rates could drop slightly, yet I stick with it for games like PUGBG, Quake and others.

I'd suggest a reduction of about 1% in frames, which is roughly 2%. I'm experiencing noticeable differences—around 1 FPS variation—when playing BDO, Destiny 2, and other tough games like heavily modded Arma 3 or Squad.

Checking frame rates in fullscreen versus borderless mode. Lower rates usually occur in borderless due to rendering differences.

Additionally, the experience changes depending on the setting: fullscreen allows the game to utilize your maximum refresh rate, such as 144Hz, whereas borderless caps performance at 60Hz.

It doesn't apply. The borderless fullscreen setting adapts to your desktop preferences.

I haven’t seen any drops in frame rate. I prefer a borderless windowed setup so I can use my side screens without minimizing or switching tabs while playing.
