I don’t have technical knowledge, but from what I know, Windows 8.1 tends to run smoother for everyday tasks rather than games.

Some people say Windows 7 is more optimized for gaming but Windows 8 has a clean interface. I put most of my stuff in the start menu on Windows 8 so everything is really well organized.
