You're considering switching from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1 Pro for about $30. It's a big decision—think about your needs and what each version offers. What are your main concerns about upgrading?

Windows 8.1 clearly outshines both 7 and 10.

It highlights the absurdity by comparing it to something much larger or more impressive.

Choose Windows 7 Ultimate when the upgrade is available. Switching to Windows 10 Ultimate is more affordable than upgrading from Professional. Upgrading to Windows 10 will cost a significant amount of money.

I don't have access to previous conversations, so I can't tell you where you got that story from. Could you share more details or clarify?

Previously, about two months ago, the start screen stopped working as it once did; Microsoft seems overly focused on satisfying Windows 7 users. The black-and-white control panel appears quite unappealing. Likewise, the new icons don’t match the overall design. I think windowed metro apps look terrible and clash with full-screen services like Netflix and Hulu—especially when the taskbar stays visible while watching videos, which is really annoying. My biggest complaint is the start screen—it’s frustrating to damage something so impressive.
