Hello! Here’s what others might say about your situation.

Many users find the upgrade to newer Windows versions smooth and beneficial, especially if you're using gaming or media sharing. However, some note that older hardware can struggle with newer OS features or performance demands, which might affect stability.

Given your current specs (i3-12100f, 16GB RAM, GTX 1080), you should be fine for most tasks. If you plan to run Server 2022, ensure your system meets the minimum requirements and consider a solid upgrade path if needed.

Since you use media sharing and media playback, stability and compatibility will matter more than raw speed. Let me know if you want tips on checking compatibility or optimizing performance!

Running Windows Server on a gaming PC is unnecessary unless you have over 10 active clients. Standard desktop sharing functions are sufficient. For larger setups like home servers or NAS devices, it makes more sense to proceed.
