If I cared about AI stuff, I'd download it separately. AFAIK there's nothing Copilot does that makes it necessary to integrate into the OS itself. Only reason I'm using Win11 is that I'm on 13th gen an the upgraded scheduler is worth it, if it weren't for that I'd stick to 10 until it lost support.

When working in a production setting, I have the option to turn off Co-pilot. It’s a great feature for security!

Its just more bloatware. If I want to use an LLM or some thing I'll go and instal or use the web version. Copilot isnt even allowed to basically do anything as it is a legit security risk and then some. Many orgs i support are waiting for the ltsc version of 11 with the specific promise that there is NO ai software ever available by default due to MASSIVE data breach issues that can cause.

I often laugh at the ads from Microsoft claiming X Windows is the most secure version ever, even though they’ve faced significant security issues recently. Their latest "AI" announcements seem overly confident and can’t possibly protect privacy, but they’re still marketed as the safest option ever! I really miss Windows 7.

The biggest issue with Windows 11 is the presence of spyware. I've been using Linux for nearly a year now, but my main concerns were audio streaming problems, certain games not functioning properly (such as Roblox, where I only wanted to play doors), and the fact that the 360Hz sound quality felt less smooth compared to Windows. Even though I wouldn’t go back to Windows, seeing ReviOS might help remove most of the spyware and improve overall usability.

Trust me, Windows 22 remains secure.
Why stick with older versions when they had solid protection?

Recently moved from Windows 10 to 11. I answered "yes" to the second poll but don’t rely on Copilot for AI tasks. I’m not comfortable sharing data with online AI services, especially big tech platforms, so I stick to locally installed apps. For image creation, Stable Diffusion with ComfyUI works well, and for large language models, GPT4All is my choice.

Can you picture Windows 22? How much junk would it contain given the pace of updates from Windows 10 to Windows 11? FUCK ME! It would be just 1% of an operating system, but packed with 110% unnecessary trash and spyware.

Maybe not, recall how basic PCs could only play Solitaire now. You're handling at least 30 services just to make Windows function, another 30 for whatever reason, plus 30 background programs like Windows Search or Indexer, and another 20 more background apps you added plus the core 5 running.

Bloatware and advertisements are often unnecessary and overly intrusive, set to default. Check out the BitLocker news from the past day. Windows 7 ran smoothly and reliably.
