I'm dealing with a significant issue while playing Battlefield 1. Right now I'm using Windows 10 Pro, but during multiplayer sessions I frequently experience severe lag due to network problems. I opened Task Manager and noticed several services consuming over half of my bandwidth—just under 5 Mbps—which prevents an upgrade. These services keep downloading constantly, causing higher ping. My friend suggested switching to Windows 7 since it doesn’t have frequent updates and might help. What should I do? What are the potential performance impacts if I switch back to Windows 7? Specifically, how much would gaming and video editing slow down?

I’d prefer staying on Windows 10 for a smoother internet connection. Also, adjusting a setting in Windows Settings could help. By default, it’s positioned at the bottom of two options. You can disable it completely or limit it to devices on your local network. This should improve your overall experience.

I adjusted that setting already, so I’ll start with Windows 7 to check for any differences as the connection upgrade is expected in about 1 to 2 months.

ASUS offers a 300 series motherboard that supports Windows 7: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/PRI..._Download/. Modern systems may still run it, though with limited features.

Turn off certain tracking features in your registry and other configurations. When searching for YouTube tutorials on Windows 10, he offers several videos to assist with disabling those elements.
