Consider whether a complete reset is preferable or if an upgrade suits your needs.

Started with a new setup, but the initial key failed, so moved to an upgrade followed by a clean installation.

If you're using old software, try a fresh installation—updates often fix issues without errors or malware. New Windows usually boots quickly until everything is fully installed, then the upgrade happens smoothly. Once you get the key, you can choose your preferred setup. Perform a fresh setup whenever possible, it's the optimal approach.
