In my view, the main advantage is that the 3900x offers about 10 to 15% better efficiency. Managing heat will also be simpler since its TDP is 180 watts compared to 105 watts for the 3900x2920x. My two cents.

Agreed, considering the cost range, the 100$ plus or minus is a solid investment. It’s worth noting that the motherboards are quite pricey, and when you add the CPU, it adds up. It seems AMD is positioning Threadripper alongside the Gen3 Ryzen chips, which might be a strategic move. Those Gen3 Ryzen models are indeed quite strong.
