Consider switching to a fresh platform since the old CPU/Motherboard isn't working. You have two choices: 1) A Ryzen 3 4100 with MSI A320M-A PRO (new, 91 Euro CPUs, 55 Euro mods) or 2) An Intel i3 10105F with H410M (used CPU, new motherboard). Is the 10105F identical to the Ryzen 3 4100?

You're certain you don't require onboard graphics, right? None of us do.

You should check the manufacturer's guidelines for the MSI A320M-A PRO. Some models require older Ryzen CPUs and specific BIOS versions, so updating the BIOS might be necessary. The R3 4100 chip likely needs a compatible motherboard, but confirm if it’s included or if an update is required.

there's a chance you need to, depends on when that motherboard was made. It's a 6 months old BIOS and they probably didnt sell that many of this model, totally possible for stock to stay in inventory for that long. 10105F isnt' the first batch of 10th gen CPUs either so the same could also happen on the H410 board.

Regarding the r5 4600, it performs similarly to the i5 10400f at around 100$ (or 95 euros). The price difference is minimal compared to the performance gains. You can also find the same motherboard option.

There are different options to consider. The most affordable AMD model is the R5 4500 at 110 euros, while the Intel option is the i5-10400F priced at 162 euros. With a limited budget, we should prioritize getting a PC now. We also need DDR4 and power supplies. If we had more funds, we could upgrade to the R5 4500 for about 20 euros extra. Let’s evaluate what fits best.

We could add two more cores for an additional twenty euros. It might be worthwhile, though the decision is yours. I’d choose the pricier choice if the games become more demanding.

In the Baltic region the price for the Ryzen 5500 is 100 euros, matching what you see on Amazon.de.

I agree, adding the 20th edition is worthwhile.
