You're weighing two options with a small price gap. The 9700k is newer and faster, but you're considering other factors beyond just speed. What are your priorities—performance, features, or something else?

Thank you kindly, good sir. I’ll consider taking the 9700k unless someone convinces me otherwise.

For top performance choose the 9700k. For a more affordable option and willingness to cut costs, opt for the 8700k.

If remaining parts function well, 9700K works nicely. Soldering and absence of hyper threading lead to improved heat dissipation and reduced effects from HT-related security patches.

The site is poor quality and not trustworthy when evaluating CPUs. A 9700K performs well for gaming, but Ryzen is a much stronger option overall.

It performs well until you engage 10 to 12 threads, after which it struggles—especially with tasks like rendering 4K videos.

You might want to check if these components fit your setup. Your current build with the i7 4790k seems fine, but using an EK waterblock and a 240mm radiator could improve cooling performance.
