It depends on whether you require the dual-core, 8-thread configuration with overclocking capabilities. That’s essentially the main point. Which project are you working on? If your resolution is 1080p or below, an i7 should suffice; for 4k or higher, consider an i9 10900F.

I'm working at 1080p with 144hz, no immediate plans to upgrade unless it fails. If it does, I'd switch to a higher refresh rate at 1440p or 1080p—not 4K. Just keeping it simple, no video editing involved.

I was thinking about switching to Ryzen. I was eyeing the 5800X, hoping for at least 8 cores. However, it’s priced at $450, and its performance is pretty similar to the 10700K for around $328.

I think using a single-core setup works better in Photoshop and AdobeXD, which is what I rely on. I was planning for eight cores since consoles use that, but I’m curious if six cores would give me better single-core performance. Your 4-core CPU hits 100% in PUBG and is causing performance problems.
