Could you modify the 4670K to fit your motherboard? Doing so would probably boost its performance significantly. The 3.6GHz speedup from the 6500 isn’t enough, and the IPC gap isn’t large. A 3.8 to 4.0 boost across all cores seems sensible for this chipset. Edited January 27, 2021 by Fasauceome

The Z series boards support overclocking, allowing you to boost the 4670K's clock speeds. This gives you a noticeable edge in performance compared to the 6500.

Sure, I can handle that. Just keep in mind the older design and DDR3 memory when planning.
