i found a pc today with an i5 3470 when i went for a walk today it has no hdd or ssd my friend has bought a 512gb ssd for the i7 2600 pc i already gave him but hes waiting for it to come in the post and for me to install it for him my question is would the i5 or i7 pc be better both will have 8gb ram and i will stick the gt 1030 in whatever pc is better all he wants to do is play older game like gta v fortnite in predominance mode Just Cause 2 fall guys vampire survivors and older older games he going to use a 18.5" screen and says he would be happy with 720p 30fps+ at low settings he also wants to use it to browse the web watch youtube at 720p
I’d choose the i7 2600 over the i5 3470 since it supports HyperThreading. The single-core speed boost wouldn’t be noticeable. When used with a GT 1030, the performance gap shouldn’t be significant for gaming. The GT 1030 is just too slow to make the CPU difference matter much, even at lower settings.
the 2600 offers greater cache and multiple threads, likely boosting performance, though it only supports PCIe Gen 2. If your GPU is Gen 2, that difference may not be noticeable. the 3470 supports Gen 3, but the video shows the 2600 outperforming, so stick with it.
