I’m eager to start another build and am torn between the Asrock Z790M-ITX for $219 and the Gigabyte B760i for $199. I’ve noticed other Z790 ITX boards are significantly pricier than this one. For the cooling, a basic fan cooler seems suitable—I’m considering the Noctua NH-L9i-17xx chromax.black model. It would work well with my setup. Any recommendations would be appreciated!
My current configuration includes:
- CPU: Intel Core i7-12700K 3.6 GHz, 12-core
- CPU cooler: Noctua NH-L9i-17xx chromax.black (33.84 CFM)
- Motherboard: ASRock Z790M-ITX WIFI Mini ITX LGA1700
- RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB, 32 GB (2 x 16 GB), DDR5-6000 CL36
- Storage: Western Digital Black SN850X, 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVMe SSD
- GPU: NVIDIA Founders Edition GeForce RTX 3070, 8 GB VRAM
- Case: NZXT H210i Mini ITX Tower
- Power supply: Corsair RM1000x, 1000 W, 80+ Gold certified, fully modular ATX
This Noctua NH-L9i might not fit well.
It seems you're considering a compact, low-profile design. Your setup could work better with an all-in-one or tower-style cooler.
I’d recommend using a Z-series chipset instead, as it’s compatible with unlocked processors.
