Choose between the D-Link DWR-921 modem or the ASUS 4G-N12 B1 for improved connectivity.
Hello everyone, I own a TP-Link MR200 v4 router equipped with a 4G SIM card. It functions somewhat, but when I try to stream or play 4K video (full load), the signal drops and the connection simply cuts out, requiring a manual restart of the router. I reached out to my provider Orange, who gave me a new router, but the issue persists. A representative from Orange explained that when the signal shifts from 4G to 3G or experiences total loss, the router fails to switch properly or reconnect altogether. I’ve read many articles discussing the shortcomings of models like the MR200, 400, and 600, and how upgrading to a new modem resolves these problems. I was considering the D-Link DWR-921 as an alternative, which is recommended, but I prefer ASUS devices for their better build quality and user interface. I also noticed ASUS models are often cheaper on Amazon. My question is: Will the ASUS 4G-N12 B1 work reliably? Can it automatically switch between 3G and 4G and recover from power loss? I’m not interested in buying both devices, so I’d appreciate any insights from someone who has used an ASUS 4G-N12 B1.
