Consider a CPU that matches your 3060’s capabilities while boosting performance for both gaming and media. You’re weighing between the 13400f and 11600k—both similar in cost but differing in core count. Since you enjoy high-end games and streaming, prioritize cores to avoid bottlenecks. More cores help maintain smooth gameplay and reduce frame drops when handling demanding content. If you want seamless performance across tasks, opt for the higher core count.

You're considering a upgrade to a faster motherboard and RAM. The 13400f is among the quickest options available for those CPUs.

13400F delivers superior performance across all metrics. For gaming, six cores are more than sufficient, though the faster cores on this chip make it an even stronger option. The 12600K(F) edges out the 13400F slightly due to higher clock speeds and comparable pricing, plus its enhanced memory controller, making it a more robust CPU overall.

Remember the need for a new motherboard for both the 11600k and 13400f models—they don’t fit your Z370p. These chipsets also require different boards than what you currently have.

You'll need a different motherboard to support those CPUs, unfortunately.

A budget-friendly option for the 13400f would be a used or refurbished model at a lower price point.
