When I purchase it, my decision will likely hinge on whether the lowest available price is a Steam code or a GOG code. Generally, I prefer the GOG version, though I probably wouldn’t buy No Man's Sky if prices are the same.

I’d choose steam, because lately gog has allowed you to redeem games you already own there as well, which means this could happen again for this title.

Steam exists solely because GOG hasn't managed regional pricing, making it effectively double the cost on GOG.

If and thats a big if atm. Steam. But what i have seen so far, is very repetitive and becomes boring very quick. I wait with NMS.

Yes I know but I feel like it was sold solely for its huge universe. I mean, more is not always better if you have nothing to do ! I prefer a smaller universe, but a rich one rather than what seems to be NMS... And believe me, I find the concept of an entire universe to visit awesome but I want content and some changes in the world. NMS feels empty and repetitive, and it was only sold as an infinite universe, but nothing else. If you look at the gameplay itself, it's pretty simplistic and lazy.

Still holding out. I’d like to watch some clips on my PC and maybe see the final stages.

The team is excited to make it available DRM-free on GOG right from the start, and they expect Bell to perform well.

I own a few games purchased on GOG, including Witcher 3. Everything functions fine, though some still need a bit of work. Steam’s cloud save isn’t as appealing these days because not all games support it. If my PC fails and I haven’t backed up my saves, it’s happened before with Dark Souls 3 and many others. Still, I’ll miss the Steam link and the potential Linux compatibility. Honestly, there will always be pirates. Maybe developers should think more about handling piracy, and I believe some games already manage to be quite entertaining in pirated versions.

GOG performs well with DRM and cloud saving, but it demands some extra effort. It doesn’t support prepaid cards, PayPal has restrictions unless linked to your bank, and I’m not confident about using services with my debit card. Sales might not match Steam’s quality. Steam is straightforward, convenient, and often offers better deals, especially during promotions. DRM can be an issue, and cloud services may experience instability, though NMS uses its own servers. Personally, I find it hard to justify purchasing it. "No Man's Lag" or "So Arkham Sky" doesn’t deliver strong performance and can become dull after a few hours.
