It's logical. The main issue is that I'm based in Brazil, not the US. I plan to visit the US this month and might be able to purchase Ryzen or I7 processors along with some RAM. (Only because there are restrictions on what you can bring, otherwise I'd face outrageous taxes here.) For the rest—Mobo, Cooler, and PSU—I'll buy locally, and the Noctua coolers are about 50 dollars pricier than Corsair ones, so it's unclear whether I should choose Noctua or Corsair.
Observed in every benchmark today, a dedicated gaming rig will favor the 9700K for achieving top FPS performance. It consistently excels in both average and low-score metrics. Keep an eye on the upcoming 15% discount on the 9700K, expected this week, which should bring its price down to around $340.
Also consider upgrading your monitors in the future. Will this current setup allow you to reach 1440p or even 4K gaming later? If yes, it makes a much simpler decision (like the 3700x). Most of the improvements from top-performance CPUs mainly apply to 1080p gaming. At higher resolutions, those advantages fade quickly and rely heavily on GPU power. Just a thought! I’d definitely pick the 3700x—it’s a versatile chip that could serve many purposes. Plus, it should handle most esports games at 144Hz.
There remains a gap in 1440p quality today. Check out the review here: https://www.techspot.com/review/1869-amd...zen-3700x/ Also, I really like your name and avatar—I'm a big Futurama enthusiast.
Hey, everything now depends on your decision... just remember that...
3700x + b450 tomahawk versus 9700k + z390 + Dark rock pro 4 could decide whether it's a 2060 or a 2070 super... that's a big talking point.
