I didn't wait and got mine recently. It'll stay useful for a while and handle almost anything you throw at it. You can hold off, invest more, and get a better CPU and motherboard later. However, ultimately it depends on your budget and current specs. You'll likely need to save more to upgrade both components if you plan to move from Intel to AMD.
I'll wait for Zen 3 to determine the price. If it's costly, I'll opt for the 3600. Should my new CPU still struggle with low FPS, I'll also upgrade my GPU.
I'll wait for the 4000 series because the Ryzen 5 3600 is hard to find in my country due to the pandemic. Many people started building PCs after getting government support, and new parts should arrive in about a week or two. I hope the 4000 series lets you build something more valuable, or you can go for the 3600 once prices drop. Also, the B550 seems to be the last generation for the AM4 socket. Since both models will work with the upcoming 4000 series, the B450 motherboard should offer better value. It’s more than enough if you're just a regular PC user.
