For gaming enthusiasts, a 10600k/10700k offers solid performance, with the 10600k matching the 10700k in game scenarios—though games don’t benefit from more than eight cores. If you focus on gaming, the 10700k is the stronger choice. Regarding boards, the Z490 gaming edge Wi-Fi, Tomahawk, Vision G, Aorus Elite, and other options are all decent selections.

Next generation processors should run on LGA 1200 socket. Z490 can handle it with a BIOS upgrade, unlike Gen 4 where the chipset is already Gen 4 ready, but current CPUs aren't. We're unsure if future generations will support Gen 4 yet.
