Choose between OEM or retail for your Windows 10 installation.
Hi, I'm using a pirated copy of Windows 7. I was thinking about purchasing the full retail version around July 29th. Since Windows 7 keys are available on sites like Reddit or G2A, which seem to be OEM sources, I might be able to get a key for about $20. (But if I switch my motherboard, will that key still work?) Also, does an OEM Windows 7 key convert to an OEM Windows 10 key? (2) If the MSDN keys are owned by a company that can't renew their contract, will my Windows 10 key from the upgraded Windows 7 stop working? (3) Windows warns that non-genuine Windows won't be accepted on Windows 10, and they'll need to pay. Yet the site I checked says my Windows is genuine. Thanks, T.
Upgrades are available only for users who participated in the beta testing of Windows 10. Transitioning from Windows 7 to Windows 10 will require you to pay the MSRP for Windows 10 directly from Microsoft.
Sure, everyone using Windows 7 or newer is welcome to upgrade on July 29th.
You have a Windows 8.1 activation key from G2A, but it doesn’t appear to be an original manufacturer’s key.
