Choose between Oculus Rift and Vive for your VR experience.
I haven't tested the Rift yet, but since the Vive is motion-controlled, I think they likely have superior hardware and software compared to Oculus. I'd rather stay with my Vive for most games because the fatigue after long sessions is worth it. Horror games feel great too, especially when you're close enough to interact physically. In titles like Project Cars, being able to look around improves visibility and depth perception. My question is: "How do you prefer to play?"
As a Rift owner, getting the Vive would be ideal. The Rift works decently, but setting it up can be a real challenge if you're dealing with RAID, VPNs, antivirus software, or an active firewall. In my case, I ended up installing it on another machine with a clean Windows version. Controllers and room-scale functionality are missing from the Rift, which makes the experience less appealing compared to the Vive. Although it’s cheaper—about $200 less—by some measures, the Vive offers a more polished setup and smoother installation. I’m planning to trade in my CV1 for a Vive instead.
Yes, you can inquire about the operating system, antivirus software, and VPN services.
