VIVE receives top ratings for delivering a superior experience. Its price reflects its quality, which many tech enthusiasts would expect daily use. The planar headphones provide exceptional sound compared to what most people encounter regularly.

You mentioned two games in your message, but I thought you meant that if you only enjoy a handful of titles—like two or five—it might not be worthwhile.

HTC and Valve have previously created similar products... And you're mistaken about the critiques. Many reviews highlight the Rift as the superior headset, while others note that the Vive controllers once gave it an edge. That benefit fades within a few weeks.

Buying virtual reality is mostly for prosumers or developers. If you have the money to use there is no reason not to. But you're going to have to deal with the enormous hassle of setting it all up. And the PS VR system aint that bad. Just lower quality.

I didn’t spend much time reviewing all 1000 games and saved the ones I enjoyed for later. Thanks for understanding—I’ll improve next time.

HTC and Valve have always worked separately, but Valve focused on one product—the Steam Controller. Even without those devices, the Vive experience is still considered superior. I don’t really care because both companies seem to be targeting younger tech audiences.

Avoid the false claims. The Vive doesn't get a better review than most other headsets. The Rift was just released without its motion controllers, but they'll arrive soon (and early demos suggest they outperform the Vive controllers). The controllers add to the cost; with the Oculus Touch, the price gap is minimal—about $1. The audio quality is excellent. If you need top-tier Sennheiser sound, you can skip the built-in ones. I personally use premium Sennheiser headphones for regular gaming. For VR, the Rift’s built-in headphones offer a better experience, which is why I prefer them.

It's not too complicated to get started, thanks to Steam VR which simplifies entering VR gaming experiences.

Vive was originally pricier due to its specialized controllers. The Rift package with controllers matches Vive's setup cost. People don't always see Vive as the superior choice because of its controller quality. The Rift is seen as the top option for headsets, and early feedback on the touch controllers suggests it outperforms others in overall value. This perspective comes from someone who isn't concerned about either side.

Valve developed some of the top-rated PC titles ever. Without the need for controllers, most critiques suggest the Rift outperforms the Vive.
