Choose between Intel or AMD.
I've always been into Intel, working with models from the 4790k up through the 9900k. But this latest setup using a 9900k is causing some stuttering problems. My friend recommended checking out AMD since I often switch between monitors while gaming. I was thinking about building a 10900k or 3090, but if I go with AMD, what would be a comparable or even better option? Thanks everyone.
The 5900x would match AMD's internal scores. Based on their own tests, it should outperform the 10900k in games by roughly 10 to 20 percent, though this varies with the title.
Curious about the 10980xe? Ultimately, my goal is to hit the highest possible FPS.
These options focus mainly on gaming performance. If you're ready to invest that amount, consider the 5950x CPU.
From other users' experiences, you experienced issues with your chip. You tried forcing it to run at 5GHz with a voltage of 1.4V, which likely caused permanent damage. The thermal performance was okay at 60°C under load, but they attributed stuttering and problems to overvoltage. You mentioned not being an expert in overclocking your 9900K—you only overclocked a 8700K back then, and it didn’t reach 1.4V. They also noted that with multiple monitors and Chrome open, your 9900K struggles to handle everything at once, suggesting an AMD might be a better option.
biggest cruel BS ive ever read sorry. If you have a stutter problem you might investigate what really is causing it. There is no AMD vs Intel is better against stuttering in any noticable manor. And if something the Intel according to gamers nexus measured numbers is a little bit ahead. You sir might just have an issue with your OS / some driver or something else. Thats it. Im sure you are well aware of Windows10 Refreshrate bug using multi monitor setups. Aswell as the need of software like Instant Standby List cleaner (ISLC) for fixing certain other bugs within windows10. Start troubleshooting with checking numbers from LatencyMon.
