You have two options: a 3600X with 2x8GB at 3200Mhz or an I5 with 2x8GB or 4x4GB at 2666Mhz. Besides the I5, can you get good performance with 4x4GB RAM? What should I consider?

No advantages come from this setup. None of these components are helpful. The system runs at 3600 + 3000/3200mhz, with 2*8 gb of RAM. Which chip are you considering?

I can only afford this one... The ASUS TUF B450M-PLUS GAMING is the only option I'm considering. I've been weighing 3600 versus 3600X, but my 2600 was limiting my 2060 Super. I'm still unsure if 3600 is the best pick since my 8600K worked fine before. Right now, PUBG is the only game causing GPU strain. Everything else seems to be handling it okay...

Avoid the TUF version and opt for the Mortar Max or Gaming Plus Max. These alternatives are superior to the current 8600k release, which has limited community support.

Mortar appears even superior to my selection...! Appreciate the link!!! Since my 2060 Super is ASUS, I considered adding an ASUS motherboard as well. Anyway, I'll sort it out... Thanks for your assistance!

think about switching to the RX 5700 XT instead of the 2060 Super. You'll get improved performance at a similar cost.

I think 3600 offers a better CPU overall. It matches gaming performance and works well for other tasks too. Having more threads makes it future-proof. Mortar MAX seems to be the top choice for mainstream, budget-friendly AM4 cards. Check how the VRM behaves when using a 3900x OC-d at 1.3V for an hour with Prime95.

I received a 9600K and an ASUS motherboard. I experienced AMD's hyperthreading capabilities with the 2600 and found it quite impressive for its cost. However, I still remember how stable the 8600K was in the past. Since I don’t multitask much and mostly play video games, the 9600K seems perfect for me. Thanks to all for your suggestions!
